The 2015 Miss New Republic of the Philippines beauty contest is in full swing after hundreds of women from around the country and even parts of the world screened for the only scholarship beauty pageant in the Philippines.
Lynette Padolina, president and chief executive officer, Miss New Republic of the Philippines, said that she is impressed with the turnout of candidates who attended the pageant screening.
“I think they really look good. All of them are very bright and they have very good intentions why they joined the pageant and I think that’s what I want. Not only the beauty but also the brain,” said Padolina during the screening for Metro Manila candidates held at Fisher Mall in Quezon City recently.
Twenty overseas candidates are expected to fly to the Philippines for the pageant. So far, 16 overseas candidates have confirmed their participation in the contest.
“The search for candidates is still ongoing. Four more screenings will be held before the official contestants are presented to the press,” Padolina said.
