The "Miss Universe" 2014 pageant is getting more exciting as its coronation night is approaching. But now, the biggest question is - Who will be this year's top five candidates?
The 2014 "Miss Universe" competition will be held at the Florida International University's US Century Bank in Doral City, Florida on Jan. 25, 2015. As we previously reported, the pageant will be hosted by Natalie Morales and Thomas Roberts. While the ladies will be judged by Manny Pacquiao, Kristin Cavallari, William Levy, Lisa Vanderpump and Lousie Roe. And popular singers Nick Jonas and Prince Royce will be the pageant's guest performers. On Wednesday, almost 90 of the world's most beautiful women made the Trump National Doral Hotel sizzle as they flaunted their toned figures clad in bikinis during the Yamamay Swimsuit Runway Show. According to The Daily Mail, the swimsuit show is part of their hectic itinerary the ladies have been participating ahead of the final stages of the "Miss Universe" 2014 pageant on Jan. 21, Wednesday.
Among the early crowd favorites of the pageant this year are the candidates from USA, India, Philippines, Spain, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, South Africa and Ecuador as revealed by Times of India. But will the ladies from these nations make it to the top 5?
Last year, among the top finishers were from Venezuela, Spain, Ecuador, Brazil and the Philippines. As observed by pageant analyst Missosology, most of the mentioned nations are pageantry champs except for Ecuador. While the Philippines, Brazil and Venezuela are the top three nations to have at least won a title in four major beauty pageants such as Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss World and Miss Universe.
Will these very same nations remain as the strongest contenders of the "Miss Universe" 2014 competition?
Having the same countries on the top five of the "Miss Universe" 2014 would be quite boring, but there will still be a great possibility that they will still assert its dominance at the pageant. Though Venezuela may not have a repeat, its candidate, Migbelis Castellanos can easily cruise through the top 5. While Spain, the 7th most powerful nation in the pageantry realm, recently have candidates that are basically unexceptional at best. But Spain's Desiree Cordero might have her place on the top.
For Ecuador's Alejandra Argudo, a top five finish will be unlikely but her admirable fighting spirit might seal the deal for a possible win. Mary Jean Lastimosa of the Philippines screams "Miss Universe" as Missosology cited. But will her queenly demeanor, stand-out figure, eloquence, humbleness and friendliness steal its nation's third "Miss Universe" crown?
Lastly, though Brazil's Melissa Gurgel has been snubbed by a vast majority of the pageant watchers she may still have a chance to be on the top five with her fluid moves and simply undeniable presence.
The "Miss Universe" 2014 competition embodies elegance, grace, beauty, intelligence and sophistication. And as the competition reaches its climax, the predictions for the winner that will possibly take the crown from Venezuela's Gabriella Esler is indeed heating up
