Beauty queen Rose Marnie is competing for the title of Miss England and will take part at the semi-final stage of the national beauty pageant on Sunday, July 5.
Miss Marnie, 21, who lives in Staple Tye, will compete against 20 girls in the semi-finals at Coventry's Kelham Hall for five places in the grand final on August 13. The winner of Miss England will be selected for the Miss World competition.
As well as traditional aspects, the competition will also focus on the charitable contribution of a candidate.
She said: "I am very excited to be involved and it will be a good opportunity for me as I hope to be involved in charity work, which is the main reason why I am involved.
"This is my first pageant and I qualified for the semi-finals through the wild card round after I missed the regional competition.
"The finalists will be chosen by judges and also viewers of the television broadcast. I need people to be voting for me by texting MISSSEMI35 to 63333."
Miss Marnie has previously modelled and currently works for stopping-smoking service ACE.
