Arielle Sage Rosmarino of Salem was crowned Miss Virginia World winner on Jan. 11 at the Historic Sphinx Club in Washington, D.C.
Rosmarino will move on to represent Virginia at the Miss World America Pageant in July, whose national winner will represent America at the 65th Annual Miss World pageant.
Miss World Organization’s chairwoman, Julia Morley, created a new theme for Miss World 42 years ago. Her "Beauty With A Purpose" goal was to make the Miss World crown the symbol for fundraising, inviting contestants and license holders from each country to help aid projects in their own countries.
Rosmarino graduated from Radford University with a bachelor’s degree in business marketing. She says her greatest achievement is establishing her “Leave No Doubt” program and traveling over 35,000 miles in the last year to deliver that message. She has also placed in the top 20 at the Miss USA pageant. Rosmarino enjoys working out, rock climbing, hiking and modeling.
Contestants were judged in the following categories: runway competition, evening gown, interview, public speaking and on-stage question.
